Head Teacher’s Full Message
I was delighted to be appointed Headteacher at Aycliffe Village Primary School in January 2021. On first visiting the school I was impressed by the warm and caring atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoy working with wonderful staff and governors, delightful children and supportive parents to move the school forward, raise standards and keep us at the heart of the village.
Our school offers all you would hope for from a village school. We are proud of the ‘family feel’ we have created and feel it is a perfect environment in which children can flourish. Our motto of ‘Great oaks from tiny acorns grow‘ encompasses what we aim to achieve for our pupils – we support them to grow and develop to be the very best they can be. We want your child’s time at school to be a special time where they are supported and challenged through a curriculum and opportunities that make learning fun! We currently have 179 children on roll, making us a smaller than average primary school. This means that all staff know the children well and are able to meet their individual needs.
We aim not only for academic success but also to build a tradition of respect, good manners, pride in work and sense of responsibility amongst our children. Your children will have the widest possible curriculum in a positive climate that enables everyone to succeed. We hope they will have lots and lots of fun along their educational journey with us and that Aycliffe Village Primary & Nursery School will be as special to them as the children are to us.
